The ceremonial signing of the memorandum took place at the Ministry of Industry and Trade with His Excellency Suwat Kaewsook, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand in the Czech Republic, and representatives of both agencies in attendance. The memorandum was signed by CzechInvest CEO Jan Michal and NIA Executive Director Krithpaka Boonfueng.

“The signing of the joint memorandum is another step toward strengthening the cooperation between Czechia and Thailand. We are building on the participation of new Czech innovative companies in Startup Thailand x Innovation Thailand Expo 2024, which our agency arranged. In recent years, Thailand has invested substantially in innovation and technological progress. We believe that our partnership will bring forth new opportunities for startups and technology companies in both countries. CzechInvest has long focused on support for innovation and the internationalisation of Czech companies, so this cooperation is important to us,” said Jan Michal, CEO of CzechInvest.

The memorandum establishes a framework for building cooperation in key areas such as support for startups, sharing investment information, joint investment initiatives and development of the environment for innovative companies in both countries.

CzechInvest and the NIA have also undertaken to organise business missions, conferences and other activities that support Czech-Thai cooperation in the area of innovation and technological development. Planned joint events include, for example, Czech Space Week and Czech Startup Week, which will take place in October 2025.

The signing of the memorandum is connected with CzechInvest’s long-term activities in Thailand, including participation in prestigious technology summits such as Techsauce Global Summit. CzechInvest is also actively involved in building international partnerships and supports Czech innovative companies in their expansions to foreign markets.
